My debut book ‘Legends of Devi Bhagavati Bhuvaneshwari’ is now published!
As a child, the stories from Indian mythology have always intrigued me. From the origin story of Lord Ganesha to complicated perspectives of Mahabharata, I love all of them. In fact, Indian mythology was my first exposure to storytelling. Even as an adult, if someone shares a new piece of story from our mythology, I go back to being a child and listen to it with keen interest.
This extended love for Indian mythology attracted me to explore further stories from the various Indian Puranas and gave the idea of writing a book a life. Finding the translated sources of Devi Bhagavata Purana and Markandeya Purana was a turning point in this new journey as they were the primary sources of my book.
Legends of Bhagavati Bhuvaneshwari is a collection of stories of how Devi Bhagavati defeated all the arrogant demons and ensured that truth wins over evil. Most of us are familiar with these stories, but I have tried to share them through my storytelling. We have heard these stories from our grandparents, but in a fragmented way. Hence, I have put together all these stories in one book and share it in my own simple way.
There are so many people in my life I am grateful to have encouraged me on this journey. It starts with my mother, who gave me the courage to live life the way I want. My husband who saw this dream come to reality even before I could see it. And to all my friends who always pushed me into writing, which motivated me to write better.
