Introduction
The habit of reading books, once it hits you, can be tough to get out of it. Books have a way of making you feel things that only you get to feel. When you read a book in your own voice, your perspective talks, out loud to you. However, with life sometimes getting in the way, even avid readers might find themselves in a reading slump. So, here are some of my book recommendations that can help you find your reading rhythm back:
The Shiva Trilogy: Amish Tripathi
I have been a fan of reading books ever since I was a kid. However, like any other child from middle-class parents, I was not allowed to read anything but academic books. However, once I finished my studies and got a job, I wanted to give reading a try. That’s when I got my hands on this series, the first book ‘Immortals of Meluha’ was enough for me to know that I still love reading books. This one is a mythological fiction and is still one of my comfort books.

Angie Pallorino Series: Loreth Anne White
I picked this book when I was in the middle of switching from one job to another. When you move from one job to another, often, many things in life will be put on a temporary hold until you get into a flow with the new job. But in my case, thanks to this series, reading books never took a hit. I used to utilize the increased travel time and any other tiny break to finish this series.

The Silent Patient: Alex Michaelides
So, after my wedding, owing to a new phase of life, a few things that were present before marriage slightly diminished (of course, temporarily) until I found my comfort zone. Naturally, I hit a pause on reading books for a long time while I was trying to get a grasp of ‘married life’. However, a year into my marriage, COVID hit making all of us work from home. That’s when I decided to get back into reading. I read some books but they failed to help me find my rhythm until I got my hands on this one. This one is an engaging thriller that gets your attention within the first few chapters.

The Housemaid Series: Freida McFadden
While I didn’t pick this book specifically during a reading slump, but, after I completed this series, I felt, this could be one of those books that help people get out of their reading slump. Its fast-paced, intriguing, and no-nonsense storyline forces people to pause other aspects of life and finish reading. So, the next time you face a reading slump, you know which book to pick up.

Conclusion
These are a few books that have helped me maintain consistency in my reading journey. The reason for only picking fiction books is that I am someone who loves reading fiction. And honestly, I am yet to find a non-fiction book that can help me come out of my reading slump. If you have any recommendations, do share them in the comments.
