Amidst reading books, trying to eat healthy, keeping myself active, and staying updated with technological trends, I like my share of entertainment. I love watching good movies or series, and I feel that media plays a very important role in driving your emotions. So, without taking you on a philosophical road, here are some of my favorite movies/series!
- Supernatural
Plot: The two unsung heroes, Sam and Dean, set out to tackle the world of supernatural entities. The series is about how these two brothers go to great lengths to eliminate the supernatural creatures while attempting to save themselves.
Format: Series
Where to Watch: Prime Video

Horror/Paranormal lovers out there, how about watching a series that’s 15 seasons long and each episode covers interesting supernatural entities. I have my list of horror movies/series, some of them were intriguing and gripping while some just added to the list of disappointments. Horror is a tricky genre that needs a different level of skill and mind-bending tricks to impress the audience. Hence, I recommend watching Supernatural – a series that has its downs and flaws but has the capability to take your horror experience to an interesting level. While I am yet to finish this one, I am halfway past the series and I am liking it.
- Modern Family
Plot: Her stepmother is younger than her, and the just-born kid is already an uncle, and so on. This is a story of how three families trying to manage their livelihood while managing their kids in a fun way.
Format: Series
Where to Watch: Disney+ Hotstar

Taking the horror tone a notch below, I have a drama/comedy to recommend. First things first, I never imagined myself as someone who would watch a drama movie, let alone a series. However, Modern Family proved that I need to open my eyes wide to see the beautiful experiences that surround me. This series is sweet, emotional, a tad bit dramatic, funny, and overall, a feel-good series. If you are in search of 20-minute episodes for your lunch breaks, I say, pick this one.
- The Intern
Plot: This movie is proof that age is just a number, a mindset. In this movie, a 70-year-old decides to keep his retirement life aside and jump on an opportunity to work as an intern in a rapidly establishing fast-paced company.
Format: Movie
Where to Watch: Netflix

My family always complains that I never cry while watching a movie. Yes, that’s partly true as there are few movies that have made the stone of my heart crumble and allow the river to flow. And may I say proudly, that I cried wholeheartedly at the end of this movie.
- Set it Up
Plot: Two over-working assistants on the verge of burnout decide to find a way to un-load the professional burden by setting up their bosses with each other.
Format: Movie
Where to Watch: Netflix

As mentioned above, me was a no-drama girl, growing up, became a ‘huh, let’s try drama’ lady. This cute little movie put a pleasant smile on my face the whole time I was watching it. It has glimpses of funny anecdotes, emotion, and frustration, all packed in 1 hour 45 minutes experience. If you are looking for a relaxed weekend with a good movie to watch, gather your snacks and tune in to this movie.
- Gilmore Girls
Plot: The story is about an emotional bond between a daughter and her mother and how the bond grows and changes over time. There’s happiness, sadness, confusion, anger, and a lot of emotion in this wholesome series.
Format: Series
Where to Watch: Netflix

While the show has its cons, it does carry a small-town charm where everyone looks out for everyone. The show is like a hot cup of soup on a chilly evening, it’s warm and comforting. With this one, you feel multiple emotions running in your head simultaneously. You are confused while wondering the whys and hows of certain scenes and feel the warmth with some. Overall, this one, again, is a feel-good series.
And then there’s one more which stands to still be my comfort and whenever I am low, I tune in to one episode and I am back on track – Check out that one show which still stands to be my favorite even after watching it, I don’t know, a million times!
While these are the ones I struggled to pick from so many amazing movies and series, which one do you like? Do share your recommendations!
