That was the first time I got a haircut done in a spa rather than a local parlour. They had this process to wash the hair, put conditioner, and so on. While I sat for it, few thoughts came onto my mind
1. What shampoo is she using? Will my hair fall increase from it?
2. Why isn’t she washing the right side?
3. Which conditioner did she even put here?
4. I’m sure my hair is going to spoil now!
Then, I gave a pause. I took a deep breath. I just observed these thoughts. I just found out that all these thoughts were only pessimistic. The part of the nerves which activates the negative energy was high I guess!
Then I thought. This is just a haircut. It’s done once or twice a year. Instead of relaxing from the nice massage, do I need to think so much? That’s when I realised I need to just enjoy the present.
That’s the power of observation. It immediately transforms you to think better and helps process your thoughts in the right direction.
Few people say thinking is a gift to human. I say observation is a gift. Why?
As in the above example, blind thinking opened the path of negative emotion (in most cases, it might be mixed emotions as well) but observation of such thoughts will let you intrspect your thoughts and allow only the right ones inside you.
We all have been in that place where we observe how people are, while travelling, observe how our colleagues are in the office or observe our crush’s personality 😉
This of course would be your perspective that gets triggered.
I might be unable to explain scientifically how observation helps us grow intellectually. But I can tell you from my experiences that observations do help us transform our lives in a better way.
As I have mentioned above, we observe others a lot. When we start observing people and other living creatures our mind actually starts to grow. So, think about what observing our own thoughts will have an effect on the mind. It will actually balance the emotions and helps the intellectual part of the brain to grow.
Also, when we start observing our thought process, we tend to always be in the present. This will in turn rationalize our decision that we take up in every stages of life. Hence, the reformation takes up a beautiful turn and ends up satisfying the soul.
Well, these are purely shared from my experience. Do you have any which you would want to share or add? Go on, pitch in your thoughts.
