The introduction of technology has changed the entire course of us humans and changed our lifestyle immensely. It has both positive and negative effects on us. Earlier, we used to wake up in the morning and look at God’s photo but now, we immediately open our email and check for messages. That’s the power of Technology.
The world of technology doesn’t seem to pause for anybody, hence, led me to research some of the upcoming technologies which will blossom in the near future. Some of them are already in use, in some parts of the world, but partially though. They are included here as they might be in full-fledge use in the near future.
So, let’s dig and read!
1. Artificial Intelligence (AI):
How come your phone is fully aware of your likes?
How is it possible for Google to give you the accurate time estimated to travel to certain place?
Well, the answer is Artificial Intelligence (AI.)
Precisely, AI is a smart technology which shares some of human-like characteristics like problem-solving or learning skills and works in sync with human needs. Most people consider this as robots, but AI is more than that. Any app can be developed using AI. It is predicted that, soon, AI might enter the world of Business and World Politics.
Useful areas: Automated Transportation, Cyborg Technology (Amputating/modifying human body), Taking over dangerous jobs (like bomb diffusing.)
2. Internet of Things (IoT):
As the name suggests, Internet is the key here. It is predicted that, by 2020-21 billion devices will be connected using IoT. Cities implementing IoT will have improved AI as well. Enhanced security will be implemented using strong encryption of 256 bits to avoid Cybercrime.
Useful areas: Waste management, Traffic congestion, monitoring parking spaces availability.
3. Blockchain:
Imagine, securing your personal records without password. Well, this is possible using Blockchain technology. Blockchain is a list of records which is present as blocks. It is linked using cryptography. They are mainly designed to secure the information. The record maintained here, if needed to alter, the corresponding blocks should also need to be altered in such case. This property in turn gives the individual block, a secure environment.
Useful areas: Used for Crypto currency, Financial services, video games.
4. Crypto currency:
They are designed to work in a medium of exchange which requires increased security. It is offered by strong cryptography. Cryptography ensures the control of creation of additional units. Crypto currencies other than Bitcoin are Litecoin, Ethereum, Zcash, etc.
It also uses Blockchain for secured transactions.
5. Augmented Reality (AR):
How was Pokémon go? Enjoyed the game? Well, if yes, then say thanks to AR. This is the real example. Simply said, AR is bringing digital fiction towards reality. Augmented Reality overlays virtual objects and information in real-life background.
Useful areas: It has helped a lot in Healthcare – from enabling medical professionals to interact with patients to support diagnosis during critical situations.
The above technologies are the ones that caught my eye. There are many others which are listed below:
1. Chatbot
2. 3D printing
3. Edge computing
4. Machine Learning
And the list goes on. But we need to always remember, Technology is only for helping Human.
